Stage 8
Focusing on building a strong foundation of swimming skills, our aim at this stage is to produce swimmers who can swim and explore independently.
Survival Benchmark
At the end of Foundation students will have an increased chance of surviving in deep water for up to 1 minute. They will know how to float by rolling over onto their back independently if they fell into water or got tired. They will also know how to tread water, swim on their front or back and get back to safety from 6-10 metres away.
Recreational Benchmark
Students will be more competent to swim independently in enclosed water environments. A competent adult will preferably still be with them in the water as an added precaution but they will likely swim and play in both deep and shallow water independently with very minimal assistance. They will be more confident to attend pool parties, go on water slides, paddleboats and a range of other family fun water based activities.
Testimonials
Danielle Bary
Friendly, professional staff. The kids love all the teachers and enjoy every lesson.
Bianca Martinez
All the staff from instructors and administration staff are always so friendly and accommodating. Our children have the confidence in their survival skills in the water they've learnt from Paddles and we cannot thank them enough for giving us the peace of mind every parent wants when their children are around water.

My eldest has been attending Paddles for five years and I recommend them to all. The staff are friendly and professional and work hard to make the kids feel comfortable in the water. The facilities are great but it's the staff that keep me coming back year after year.
