Stage 12
Intermediate is an exciting stage where students build more advanced stroke techniques and work on refining their swimming skills. It is this stage where they really build a comprehensive set of strokes and skills that open the door to a whole new world of opportunities around water.
Survival Benchmark
At the end of Intermediate, swimmers will be more likely to survive in deep water for over 5 minutes using treading water, flotation and sculling skills. They will also be able to swim continuously for over 5 minutes using breaststroke and survival backstroke, clothed and without goggles.
Recreational Benchmark
Swimmers will be completely confident and competent in a swimming pool and will not require an adult in the water with them, however they will always require constant adult supervision. They will be competent to join junior swimming squads and confident to partake in other water sports such as water polo and diving. They will enjoy wave pools, body boarding, open water inflatable obstacle courses, playing at the beach in between the flags and more.

The welcoming and nurturing staff have improved the confidence of my children in and out of the water. Their teachers' patience has allowed my children to enjoy learning and improving their swimming technique. I recommend Paddles to others because of the amazing staff.

We love coming to Paddles because of the smaller class sizes and great swimming teachers who take the time to spend with my son on his individual swimming needs. I'd highly recommend this centre!
